The veteran actor of over 350 films Srinivasamurthy with his 20 colleagues staged the mythological play 'Bhaktha Ambarisha' on Saturday night at Ravindra Kalakshetra for the second time. The first show was staged at Udupi in the presence of Paryaya Swamiji Sri Lakshmivara Teertha.
The second show of 'Bhaktha Ambarisha' was staged at Ravindra Kalakshetra in a full packed auditorium. Some of the bigwigs of the Kannada cinema industry Abhinaya Sharadhe Jayanthi, SA Chinne Gowda, Lokanath, HG Dattatreya (Dattanna), V Manohar, Mars Suresh, Nanjunda, Naganna and others attended the two and half an hour play.
The response from the packed auditorium was excellent for the roles of Srinivasamurthy in the title role, Ramesh Bhat as Doorvasa saint, Naveen Krishna as Sri Vishnu. There were twelve songs in this play that is on 'Bhakthi verses Penance'.
The highly talented and respected actor Srinivasamurthy dedicated this mythological stage play to Dr Rajakumar icon of Kannada cinema.
It was the dream of Dr Rajakumar to appear in triple role of 'Bhaktha Ambarisha' did not happen because of kidnap of icon by fugitive Veerappan. Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar took the permission to shoot at Mysore Palace and Hamsalekha finished the song compositions for 'Bhaktha Ambarisha' film in 2002.
