Thirty members of Dancers Association held the whole night silent protest in front of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. From yesterday 6 pm till today morning the dharna and protest continued is something unheard so far. Wearing black dress not creating any problems the dancers association already completed 16 hours of Dharna for wage hike.
The Kannada cinema dancers association has demanded slightly more than 44 percent wage hike done last time. The 150 members of Dancers Association lead by Rajesh Brahmavar, Harsha, 5Star Ganesh, Imran Sardaria and others in black costume on Wednesday staged a silent protest in front of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. Around 12 in the night 30 members stayed back and continued the protest.
As the truce with the KFCC failed the dancers association members continued the protest after 6 pm on Wednesday evening. The protest went after closing down of KFCC and the members were seen late in the night on a relay hunger strike format.
What the dancers Association demand is that the daily wage is roughly around Rs.850 for a dancer. It was fixe din 2006 and after that nothing has happened. Two times the revision should have taken place. It is once in three years wage hike is made. Already six years have gone we need the hike by 50 percent says Rajesh Brahmavar, President of the Association.
