It is a well deserved position of President of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy for renowned actress of Kannada cinema Thara. The announcement has made the actress very happy because she got the work of her fraternity.

Thara actress of Kannada, Tamil and Tulu films starting from 'Thulasidhala' in 1985 acted in over 150 films and she graduated to character role of high prominence after national award for 'Haseena' role.

Thara belongs to the political party of ruling Bharathiya Janata Party and a position for her was expected. I am in the BJP Party for last five years. I admit that the political affiliation got me this position. Thara replaces the first Chairman of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy TS Nagabharana. TSN completes three year term very soon. Thara in the conversation mentioned that the new position given to her would not obstruct her film career. She continues to act in very meaningful films.

According to actress Thara Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy should go hand in hand with the Kannada film industry besides doing various quality programs. Academy is a part of the government. I am taking over the position from TS Nagabharana from Wednesday 14th of March disclosed Thara.

TS Nagabharana term ended on February 26. Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy position of President is for period of three years.
