The latest film by Padmasri Dr Girish Kasaravalli 'Kurmavathara' based on the novel of Kum Veerabhadrappa for Basanth Production on the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in social life beautifully narrated held the premiere at Sulochana on last Wednesday at Vartha Bhavan on Infantry Road in Bengaluru. The best regional cinema at the 59th National awards 'Kurmavathamara' premier was fully packed in 'Sulochana' auditorium the newly built one by Karnataka information department on the occasion of 78 years of Kannada cinema.
The Jnanapith award Dr UR Anantha Murthy and Dr Girish Karnad came with family members to the premiere of the film. VK Murthy the Dadasaheb Phalke award winner, Smt Sudha Murthy, Dr Jayanthi, TS Nagabharana, Shyamala G Bhave, Umasri, Ramesh Aravind, K.H,Srinivas, Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, IM Vittala Murthy, Suchendra Prasad, GK Govinda Rao, SG Vasudev, SG Siddaramaiah, Edakallu Chandrasekhar, B Suresha and others.
Dr Girish Kasaravalli son Apoorva doing the role of a director in the film with near perfection was admirable while Ananya Kasaravalli as costume designer for the film makes it a family pack in 'Kurmavathara'.
