In a cheating case at the chit fun run by actor, producer, director Veerendra Babu of 'Swayamkrishi' Kannada cinema faces the charges at the Devanahalli police station limits.

Running a chain of businesses in the field of food, clothing, television, daily newspaper, evening newspaper, courier etc Veerendra Babu invited deposits from his 'Swayamkrishi' group. Several depositors came up. From the deposits earned Veerendra Babu said to have made the Kannada film 'Swayamkrishi'. He lost nearly Rs.4 crores from the project.

Around the time of heavy losses he also eloped with an employee of his company and faced another case. Now 25 depositors who made a minimum of Rs.40000 each have filed a case against Veerendra Babu. The search is on for Veerendra Babu.

An FIR has been filed on the team of 'Swayamkrishi' by ACP Gachinakatti and searching for culprits.
