One of the topnotch personalities of Kannada cinema industry Dr Jayamala is feeling completely relieved from the Thiruvanthapura High Court order on Friday. The case with regard to Dr Jayamala touching the feet of Lord Ayyappa in 1987 ballooned up as a big controversy in 2006 has been dismissed the Kerala High Court.
I am relieved of all tensions after six years. Dr Jayamala feeling happy for the verdict says she would take up more progressive work in the coming days.
It was in way back 1987 she touched the feet of Lord Ayyappa entering the sanctum sanctorum. According to the principles of 'Devadal' in Shabarimalai shrine the Ayyappa temple - 10 to 50 years age of female are not supposed to touch the feet of Ayyappa of Shabarimalai.
The actress hogged headlines few years ago when she claimed that she had touched the idol at the Sabarimala temple on her visit in 1986.The actress who was then at her late twenties was thus violating the rules of the famed temple, which forbid women in between 10-50, to visit the deity. A charge sheet with regard to this was filed in 2010 involving the name of Dr Jayamala. Dr Jayamala had appealed for dismissing the case to the Kerala High Court.
There has been violations from Dr Jayamala according to Temple guidelines was dismissed by justice SS Satishchandran. For such allegations there is no provision in the law the justice mentioned.
