There is no 'God Father' for 'God Father' Kannada cinema from the industry front. The film produced by K Manju in the direction of ace cameraman S Sriram, AR Rahman music as main trump card, with Upendra starring in triple roles, Soundarya Jayamala, Catherine and others is now running in to troubled waters.
After magnificent collection in the first week for 'God Father' there was slight drop in the second week but the collection was steady in 100 plus theatres. With three films set for release this week and most of the multiplex theatres are going to Telugu film 'Julaayi', Narasimha Arts distributor Prasad has raised objections to theatres giving up 'God Father' for other films.
There is a rule in the KFCC that good running Kannada films should not be disturbed. On this basis distributor Prasad has written a complaint to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to restrain the theatres for 'God Father'.
A big budget cinema 'God Father' is still not safe for the distributor Narasimha Arts. On 8th of August a complaint has been made to KFCC. Prasad is hoping for best results from KFCC.
According to sources the two weeks share for the distributor from 'God Father' is Rs.5.5 crores. This is excluding the theatre rent in over 100 theatres. The film with same number of theatres with a steady collection would save the distributor in another two weeks.
If the theatres are not restored for the 'God Father' it is going to be Rs.4 crores loss for the distributor. Producer K Manju has sold the film to a comfortable margin to Narasimha Arts.
