On the occasion of centenary of Indian cinema the reputed playback singer from Karnataka Sangeetha Katti is paying rich tribute to one of the legendary singers of Indian film music - Mukesh on 27th of August - the day Mukeshji died at a program in London in 1976. It will be three hours Mukesh Hindi film songs musical evening organized by Sangeetha Katti's 'Sur Bahar'.
As a female singer remembering the male singer it is unique. Sangeetha katti besides duet songs will be also singing a few of the 25 songs selected for the evening. One member from Mukesh and Raj Kapoor family is likely to turn up for this tribute evening. New singers Ashis Tripati, Kaustab Bharracharaya are part of this musical evening; Sangeetha Katti will be singing solo songs of Mukesh. She will be also part of the duet songs.
35 members will be on stage and 16 are coming from other language and the event to pay rich tribute is entry free.
Sangeetha Katti has to meet the bills worth Rs.15 lakh and looking for sponsors. Dada Saheb Phalke VK Murthy will be honored on this occasion. Dr B Saroja Devi, Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, Jayanthi, cricketers BS Chandrasekhar, GR Vishwanath and others are likely to take part in the musical evening. It will be an emotional start and end says Sangeetha Katti.
