The 'Ustaad' of Hindi cinema, real showman in the last three decades making many successful box office films in Hindi, Shubash Ghai now heading the prestigious 'Whistling Woods international School in Film Acting' took time to come to Bangalore to address the media on his first Kannada film production 'Nimbe Huli' in the direction of actor cum director Hemanth Hegde.
After seven years he had come down to Bangalore. In his films the favorite place for the legendary director and producer Mysore, Bangalore, Chickmagalur are the fantastic locations. The places are filled with energy and positive people move around. I have released by pressures coming to Bangalore sitting in a quiet hotel West End started scripts. My film 'Hero' and 'Vidhaata' were prepared here in Bangalore.
The skill education is more important today in India. At least 100 film institutions should come up with high standards. The cinema making is a democratic form of art. It is not got a definite formula like in any other fields. When Gurudut, Shyam Benegal, Raj Kapoor, Satyajith Ray were around all made different varieties but not similar in contents. This profession is not like Engineers or Doctors.
Likewise for the film - four pillars are very important to sail through. Firstly it has to be a good making, an entertaining one. Secondly the government policy, thirdly the theatre system and fourthly the media support. The regional media should not go for Katrina Kaif in the front page. It should protect the regional films.
Shubash Ghai was almost similar to Kannada Show Man V Ravichandran when the issue of onslaught from other language films question was raised. By doing better quality films that reach the international level you can throw the competitor out he mentioned. In the same way V Ravichandran stated that only good quality films is the answer for non Kannada films barging in the Karnataka state.
Another pertinent point that Shubash Ghai made while speaking to a few journalists at Atria hotel is that the honesty should not get grinded. In India every politician thinks on the language issue to get his work done. This is also bad he felt.
Shubash Ghai completely agreed with what Infosys founder Narayana Murthy has told - instead of Right to Education, give right education should be the motto.
On missing out the superstars to work with Shubash Ghai quoted the names of Dr Kamal Hassan and Amitabh Bachchan. At the time of 'Ek Duje Ke Liye' Kamal Hassan a terrific performer signed a film in 'Muktha Arts' but he was too busy and call sheet did not come as I expected. Likewise when Amitabhji was signed he worked for seven days and he had to take rest due to his ill health remembered Shubash Ghai who is known as second Showman of Hindi cinema after Raj Kapoor.
