After getting the plum post of President of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, Thara Anooradha, national award winning actress who belongs to ruling Bharatiya Janata Party was sworn in as Member of Legislative Assembly on Friday afternoon with some of the bigwigs of the Kannada cinema industry colleagues attending it.

Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, Dr Jayamala, Ramya (Divya Spandana) Sudharani and others took part in the swearing in ceremony of MLC by Thara Anooradha.
 
A special bus was arranged for this event also saw some of the Kannada film industry members attending it. Thara Anooradha took oath in the name of Dr Rajakumar was a very special one.
 
Thara was later greeted for the new position of MLC for six years by Karnataka Ministers Renukacharya and Shanker Murthy.
 
Perhaps no other Kannada cinema actor took oath in the name of Dr Rajakumar is the first thing and secondly after Ananthnag and Jaggesh, it is Thara who is holding the plum post of President of state owned Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy and also an MLC. Ananthnag was minister of Karnataka state Urban development ministry in JH Patel cabinet, Jaggesh is currently holding MLC and Vice President of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.
 
Pranayaraja actor Dr Srinath term ended in last June. Thara is the replacement for that place.
