Popular in the yesteryears as an actress and also as sister of Pandari Bai - Mynavathi breathed her last at private hospital in Bangalore after heart attack. She was 78. Her son Gurudut is very active in television industry. Mynavathi eldest son Shyamsunder died five years ago at a young age bothered Mynavathi very much. A great devotee of Sharadambe and 'Panduranga' of Pandarapura the actress of Kannada and Tamil language films Mynavathi was instrumental in starting Yantra Media that produced 'Amma and Manethana' mega serials for Udaya TV two decades ago.

After debut in devotional film 'Santha Sakku' in a small role Mynavathi was in topnotch films and character roles were performed by her with great ability. Abba E Hudugi, Sodhari, Kachadevayani, Rayara Sose, Naane Bhagyavathi, Anuraadha, Annapurna, Sarvagnamurthy, Amma, Muththiade Bhavya, Obbarigintha Obbaru are some of the popular films of Mynavathi in Kannada.

The last function Mynavathi was seen at Sri Raghavendra Chitravani awards evening on 30th May 2011 in Bangalore. She received the award given by Dr Jayamala. To come to cinema field it is many births fortune she said. Awards means Affection she stated and recited Sri Shankaracharaya Shloga on goddess Sharadambe in a packed auditorium and hoped the good words have magical effect.
