As the year 2012 coming to an end it is the customary practice of arriving at the balance sheet of Kannada filmdom. We give you the five best and five super flops of the year 2012 in the first batch of '2012 Kannada film' series.

In a nutshell out of 107 films released (103 Kannada, Tulu 3 and Kodava 1) - it was 122 Kannada film released in 2011. 25 films reached the super hit and average hit categories. That is 25 percent success of Kannada cinema industry in 2012.

The biggest saving grace for most of the films of superstars that failed was the television rights. Some of the flop films earned from Rs.50 lakhs to Rs.2.5 crores from television bosses.

The five best films are - 'Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna' of challenging star Darshan and Dr Jayaprada, 'Anna Bond' starring Puneeth Rajakumar, Priyamani and Nidhi Subbaiah, 'Addhoori' of Dhruv Sarja and Radhika Pandit, 'Dhandupalya' of Pooja Gandhi and 'Govindayanamaha' of Komal Kumar and Parul Yadav.

The biggest of the year and film of the year is undoubtedly 'Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna'. The biggest historical made in around Rs.25 crores earned the investment plus an easily Rs.10 crores profit in the 50 days. Anna Bond of power star Puneeth Rajakumar for investment of Rs.7 crores made a business of Rs.15 crores, for Rs.4 crores investment 'Addhoori' earned Rs.12 crores, 'Dhandupalya' for Rs.3.5 crores earned Rs.10 crores plus and 'Govindayanamaha' for Rs.4 crores investment it earned Rs.10 crores.

All the above figures are gate collections. In addition to it the television rights - it ranges from Rs.1.5 crores to Rs.8  crores for the above five films, audio rights and others are bonus.

The films like Sidlingu of Yogesh and Ramya, Alemaari of Yogesh and Radhika Pandit, Jaanu of Yash and Deepa Sannidhi, Bhagirathi of Kishor and Bhavana, Rambo of Sharan and Madhuri, Shakthi of Malashri, Chingari of Darshan and Deepika Kamaiah, Bheema Thiradalli of Vijay and Pranitha, Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi (3D) of Upendra, Ambarish and Ramya, Romeo of Ganehs and Bhavana, Sagar of Prajwal, Radhika Pandit, Haripriya and Sanjaana, Kalpana of Upendra, Shruthi, Lakshmi Rai, Pritiya Loka of Nandan Prabhu, '12 AM' of Alok, Divya Sridhar, Snehitharu of Master Snehith, Tarun, Vijaya Raghavendra, Srujan Lokesh, Ravishanker, Darshan in guest role, Pranitha, Drama of Yash and Radhika Pandit and Edhegaarike of Aditya and Atul Kulkarni reached comfort zone with investment back and also some marginal profits.
