As we all know the 'Balaga' of SP Varadaraju Awards headed by Dr Baraguru Ramachandrappa is selecting the appropriate persons for the awards every year. This 2013 year appropriate persons - Rajendra Krishna from Cinema and Mamata Gudoor from Theatre were lucky among the last six years SP Varadaraju Awards.
As the condition of Rajendra Krishna actor of 35 films in Kannada in which 15 films he acted with Dr Rajakumar was very poor economically the first son of 'Annavru' presented a cheque of Rs.50000 to Rajendra Krishna and the similar gesture of Rs.50000 was shown on theatre artists Mamata Gudoor who is living in meager pension given by government.
After Shivarajakumar announced Rs.50000 each for the two veterans a few more persons came forward. Artist Vemgal Narayanaswamy Rs.20000 each, Dr Rajkumar assistant Chenna Rs.5000, Venkateshwara Frame Work Rs.5000 each made Rs.80000 each for Rajendra Krishna and Mamata Gudoor.
Dr Baraguru Ramachandrappa, senior actor Srinivasamurthy, veteran journalist Dr Vijaya, veteran distributor BK Gangappa, Smt Nagamma sister of Dr Rajakumar and Varadappa were on the dais to present the SP Varadaraju awards that carried Rs.10000 each with shawl, garland and citation.
The industry, media and well wishers should be behind the artists to give relief in the needy time felt veteran journalist Dr Vijaya. The government instead of releasing funds to 'Maths' should liberally give helping hand to ailing artists she felt.
For my growth and progress in films like how my parents Dr Rajakumar and Smt Parvathamma are responsible the contributions of my uncle Varadappa and Nagamma auny is also notable felt Shivarajakumar. One who has the strength to donate should come forward with open heart. God knows what happens to us. Such supports would not only give satisfaction but in our difficult times it returns in some other form is the belief of Shivarajakumar.
Veteran actor Srinivasamurthy remembered the days of 'Kavirathna Kaalidasa'. I was selected for 'Bhojaraja' role by Varadappa he said. The people tax is going to not so needy places. Instead it should be given to ailing artists and technicians who have worked for people satisfaction in this entertainment media of cinema felt Srinivasamurthy.
