Soori Simplicity

IndiaGlitz [Saturday, April 27, 2013]

Ace director in Kannada cinema from 'Duniya' in 2007 Soori is maintaining simple nature and humble attitude like his previous films. He seems to be giving an answer to detractors who said there was no story in 'Annad Bond' his previous film with Puneeth Rajakumar, Priyamani and Nidhi Subbaiah.

For his 'Kaddi Pudi' several new methods are applied with a neat story of underworld and social life of the protagonist Shivarajakumar. The conversation between Shivarajakumar and versatile actor Ananthnag show as a promo part on Friday night explained the two shades of the protagonist. How is it possible to come out from underworld and lead a quiet life? You go away from the place to where you are not known says Ananthnag. I would live here and prove that without underworld I can live Shivarajakumar places the argument. That in fact also gives the mood in which Soori 'Kaddi Pudi' travels.

'I have no big story in this film - you would have heard it before' - director Soori makes it clear. He agrees that the story is penned with only Shivarajakumar in mind. Rajesh Nataranga came to help in screenplay. Manju Prabhas has penned dialogues this film. We have not given high image and decorated scenes. It is only for Aindrita Ray song we have added color. The effort is there in showing the century star Shivarajakumar differently.

'Duniya' had unique end and it is unexpected end in 'Kaddi Pudi'. When actor like Shivanna is around it is not easy and his dedication makes me responsible. It also leads to some more films with such an actor. The song pattern handled in this film is classical and poetic. V Harikrishna agreed for change and I am happy for it stated Soori the pinch hitter in the box office from all his directions.
