The first time telecast of films that have won Swarna Kamal, best direction at national level, Rajat Kamal award winning Indian films that are best regional language films, Indira Gandhi award winning films, films of any language selected for Indian Panorama section of annual International film festival of India, films that have taken part in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, Locarno, Carlo Vero, London, Nattos, Rotterdam, Freeburg, Munich, Busan, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Rome, Sidney festival participated films would automatically get selected for screening in Doordarshan and get Rs.25 lakhs.

Among the guidelines the most important is that even the Swarna Kamal award winning films should pass through the committee set up for telecast.

A veteran in the art film category P Seshadri winner of six consecutive times at national level feels the rush for quality films get automatically increase.
