The prestigious Lahari Recording Company of Karnataka has filed a legal petition against ETV Kannada via Mr Venkat of Link Legal Associates for violation of revised copyright Act in 'Big Boss' that is on air with Kichcha Sudeep handling the reality show.

Lahari Recording Company has claimed Rs.3 crore as damages for using the songs of its films 'Prema Loka, Ramachari and Rayaru Bandaru Mavana Manege' - all are very popular Kannada film songs.

Without seeking permission and violating the Copyright Act ETV has used the songs liberally in many of the 'Big Boss' episodes.

On Saturday city civil court judge Mr Patil passed an injunction order for impeachment of Copyright Act. The order has asked ETV Big Boss authorities to immediately stop using the film songs that are in the custody of Lahari Recording Company.

Of course ETV Kannada has used the Kannada films songs in 'Ede Tumbi Haduvenu' popular talent search program. The situation was different says Lahari Velu speaking over telephone from Los Angeles. Lahari Recording Company proprietors G Manohar Naidu and G Thulsiram Naidu (Velu) are on holiday in USA.
