Auro 11.1 at Manasa

The latest technology in sound is Auro 11.1 is installed at a single theatre 'Manasa' at Konanakunte area in Bangalore by proprietor Janardhan Reddy in consultation with BARCO a global technology company spread out in 90 countries.

It is 360 degree sound fed to the ears with ambience of natural sound captured precisely. The installation varies from Rs.20 lakhs to Rs.2 crores. At Manasa theatre in Bangalore Rs.20 lakhs equipments were fitted by Barco.

Addressing the media on Saturday afternoon at the theatre premises Madhusoodhan of Barco says this technology has come here to stay. A DRC multiplex screen No.4 at Mysore is fed with technology and there is already awakening among the audience to watch the film with this technology of sound.

Barco has spread its wings in India from Dr Kamal Hassan 'Vishwaroopam'. It is heading for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada cinema industry.

The sample of 11.1 Auro technology of sound was made available to the media after the media address. It was 12 minutes demonstration of sound starting from Mono to 11.1 technologies. At Manasa theatre the Tamil film 'Mariyan' (starring Dhanush and Parvathy) got the first taste of this technology.

It is the look out of the exhibitor and producer to install state of the art technology. For Manasa theatre Rs.20 lakh was the bill for minimum usage of 11.1 Auro 3 sound technologies and it was installed in one week time.

There is no lead from Kannada cinema industry for this technology. In Mumbai, Chennai, Madhurai, Trichy, Dindigul, and Hyderabad the technology is growing fast says Madhusoodhan.

In Kannada cinema industry Madhusoodhan consulted Rockline Venkatesh and Upendra on this new system. In AVM, Rehman Studio this technology is found. The installation would take a week time says Salis Raj, Kaverappa, Manager of Manasa theatre was also present at the media meet. There is no ticket price hike from this new technology in the theatre he says.
