Chandru Leaves BJP

Actor of Kannada cinema and theater personality Mukyamantri Chandru (Mukyamantri tag he got for staging the drama of the same name for several times) has finally come out from Bharatiya Janata Party. He has served the party for a long time and headed the Kannada Development Authority and currently Member of Legislative Council.

According to one rumor Mukyamantri actor of over 300 films resigned to join Congress to save his seat of 'Kannada Development Board'. Chandru himself does not agree with this rumor. Of course the new government comes the change of heads of corporation bodies is inevitable. I am out from BJP to serve the Kannada language in my own way he says. Chandru lost the assembly elections previously is also contemplating on contesting for coming Lok Sabha elections in June 2014.

Chandru a double graduate and doctorate holder from Gulbarge University for socio-cultural topics entered the active politics on an invitation from Janata Party Ramakrishna Hegde who was the first non congress chief minister in Karnataka in mid 80's. In the regime of BS Yediyurappa as chief minister, Chandru got MLC position and also the head of the Kannada Development Board.
