A humble and simple still photographer Kengeri Basavaraj passed away on Saturday for prolonged illness. He was suffering from acute cancer and the excess of 'Pan and Jarda' that he used to chew was also responsible for his collapse at the age of 45 years.

A still photographer of over 100 films starting from 'Nadha Surabhi' Basavaraj worked recently for 'Ambara'. He lived a simple life and recognized for good work by banners like Rockline Venkatesh, Soorappa Babau and others in the industry.

One of the senior producers today Soorappa Babu speaking over telephone from Chennai (he was busy discussing a subject with director KS Ravikumar) said Kengeri Basavaraj worked for his banner films from 'Tharle Nan Maklu' to 'Dashamukha'. I pray for his soul rest in peace said Babu.

This is the second death from the unit of 'Ambara' before the release. Sadashivaiah an assistant died in Ganga river when he slipped and now the same film still photographer Kengeri Basavaraj also breathed his last.
