The International Children Film Festival and International Film Festival joint media address was held on Tuesday in Bangalore to give details of the two prestigious festivals of films.

ICFFI also known as Golden Elephant is slated to begin on 14th of November and conclude on 20th of November in Hyderabad. 200 children films from 48 countries are taking part with main focus on Czech country. In all there will be 16 awards with opening film 'Gopi Gawaiyya Bagha Baiyaya' and closing film will be award winning film. More than a lakh children are taking part in the event says S Venkateswar, Addl. Director General, Press Information Bureau, Bangalore.

At the once in two years ICFFI media briefing Ms. Pallavi Chinya, Deputy Director, Press Information Bureau Bangalore was present on the occasion.

The 44th edition of International Film Festival starting on November 20 to 30 at Goa focus on Japan as the main country says S Venkateshwar. From Kannada language at the Indian Panorama Section only representation is P Seshadri 'Bharat Stores'. The International Competition features prize money amounting to a total of 13.2 crores for the year 2013.

Academy award-winning Hollywood actor Susan Sarandon, critically acclaimed Iranian director, producer and screenwriter Majid Majidi, Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland, along with luminaries from Indian cinema including actor Rekha and legendary musician Asha Bhosle.

Legendary actor Manoj Kumar will flag off Indian Panorama 2013 during the inaugural ceremony. IFFI-2013 has a special North-East Package comprising of 19 films from the North-East which explores the immense ethnic, traditional and cultural diversity in the 8 states of North- East he added.

Around 160 foreign films will be showcased in the Festival. 15 films from around the world will vie for the coveted Peacock Awards at the 44th IFFI.
