The latest cinematographic equipment Sonic Camera that can capture 500 frames in a few seconds has been used for the first time in a Kannada film 'Datta' produced and directed by Gurudutt. In all five cameras are used to get the speed says Gurudutt who is producing this film with the banner 'Udayaravi' a tribute to his father Chi.Udayashanker and brother Ravishanker. Gurudutt is a famous actor too in Kannada. He has a good stint in television serials.

The dream of my father Chi.Udayashanker a famous lyricist of Kannada cinema was that I should become a director. I did the direction in 1995 for a multi star cast film 'Samara' but it is after 10 years I am taking up direction. Two of the songs have been shot in Austria. At Mini Mundas where the world famous caricatures are exhibited is captured in the song sequence. Mini Mundas that is under construction since 48 years could be seen for the first time in this film.

Starring Darshan and Ramya for the first time 'Datta' has completed the shoot recently at Eagleton Club. Keerthi Chawla who played heroine in 'Bidalaare' Kannada film is back as second lead in this film.
