    Jolly mood of Jackie

    Tuesday, January 24, 2006
The fabulous actor of Hindi cinema Jackie Shroff was in a merry mood when he spoke to the media persons at The Club in Bangalore when he had come to take the felicitation from the producer of ''Care of Footpath'' in which he has acted as Karnataka chief minister. Here are some of the highlights of a chat with Jackie - Jaggu Daada.
I have come from slum, care of footpath. I lived in 'Jopad' for a long time. When a film is made in that name 'Care of Footpath' I felt happy to be part of it.
Master Kishen the 10 years old director is a brilliant director. He taught me how to narrate the lines, express the dialogues and calling me uncle (he is the first one to call me like that) he said I have to read the papers before signing on it.
At this age I was playing marbles in small lanes. He is sitting in front of the computers at this age learning graphics, sending mails and doing wonders.
In fact I asked for a role in this film because the title is attractive to me. Master Kishen readjusted the script and included me in CM role. I am supposed to work for one or two days in Bangalore.
For me my mother is everything. I learnt everything from her. But I lost her when I acquired money and name. I was sleeping in my room and she was in another room. I did not know how she died. But in the slum we used to sleep with other four members of family together. When my mother used to caugh I used to get up.
My two children - a boy and girl are not interested in cinema. Nana Patekar offered a role to my son but he rejected it and said he wants to play for Indian football team.
I regularly give oil bath to my children and cook in my free time for them. Children should be protected by parents.
I am not in the gossip mills because my wife is beautiful.
Big banner producers do not pay money. The small producers would not have money but medium producers only give me money for my acting.
I was stading near my house next to actress Bindu every day and wanted someone to notice me. I did it for many days before I got a chance.
Comedy films are difficult. The tough thing in life is to make people laugh.
I do lot of charity. I don't have faith in NGO's. I give direct help to children and elders. I educate, give health check up and serve food for poor children.
'Divorce' is my new film ready to hit the screen. A young boy ask for divorce from his parents and I as a lawyer help that boy.
Children know several things. In India 35 of age is 65 percent. 25 percent are children and the rest are oldies. Youth of today should take us front.
I am not heavyweight in Hindi Cinema. I am only 92 kilograms is what my wife says.
I remember this occasion till I die.
