    Nimble Nymph - Neetha

    Friday, June 30, 2006
Neetha alias Neetha Shri from Kannada film ''Poojari'' has decided to accept more commercial films in the forthcoming days. Say for coming eight years and after that she wants to settle down getting married. The beautiful actress first commercial break film was Joke Falls opposite Ramesh Aravind that completed 100 days is concentrating more on physical mental balance for easy going in professional career.

She is all excited about her sixth film Poojari in which she plays a romantic heroine.

    Excerpts of an interview:

Can you furnish a quick recap of your past?

I come from Mangalore. My father Manjunath is an agriculturist and my mother Mohini is an employee of Syndicate Bank. I studied in Mangalore. I have a degree in commerce. I came to Bangalore and my entry to films is a coincidence.

You were you active in cultural activities?

I have acted in dramas and played as child artiste. In the camp of 'Abhivyakthi' troupe, I played Desdemona in 'Othello'. I read a lot of novels right from Vyasaraya Ballal's 'Hejje' I am interested in Sydney Sheldon.

    How did you enter films?

I was chosen by director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar for Punya a mega television serial. After that I have acted in five films. Yahoo, Govinda Gopala, Beru, Joke Falls, Esha, Tulu film 'Kote Chennaiah' and now in Poojari I play a fully romantic role for the first time .

What is that you are looking for?

A good commercial break is the requirement. For that I read a lot, see a lot of films. I make preparations as to where I can adjust.

Any other preparations you are making?

I do Yoga and Aerobics. Yoga is helping me in sustaining a good concentration while Aerobics is keeping me physically fit very essential in filmdom.

Do you have any role models?

I don't have any one but I always feel that for any given role, the artiste has to do some homework to make it look better.

What is your role in 'Poojari'?

After the successful film 'Joke Fall' and Tulu film 'Kote Chennaiah' I am getting quite an interesting and fully commercial film. In mass entertainers there will be no job for the heroines. This is not like that. I come from a background of rowdies and I like 'Poojari' who shows his guts to love despite hailing from an ordinary family. We both study in the same college. There is very good rhythm in shooting and I hope Adhi Lokesh gets a fresh mileage from this film. Cameraman M.R.Seenu has been the lovely person to work. He keeps every one happy on the sets.

Why did you accept a widow role in 'Esha' at the budding age of your career?

We should take challenges in portraying roles. Fifteen days I interacted with a few widows to know about their life and got some experience and then played the role.

What happened to your Tamil assignment?

The Tamil film 'Nagarika Komali' has been released and it is quite a successful film in Chennai and Madhurai. It seems with Surali Rajan's son I am playing another film after the Ashada Masa.

    Are you aiming awards?

That should come to you and you can't go after it. I believe that hard work, discipline and sincerity pays you everything.

You have decided to take up more commercial films?

I am for glamorous roles in commercial films. As an artist, I think glamour and commercial cinema go hand in hand. There should not be any vulgarity.

    What about marriage?

That is not for another 7 to 8 years. I don't have a dream boy. If a boy is dreaming about me I can't help it.
