I want to stay long ''''''''Sanjana Gandhi''''''''

    [Interview by Indiaglitz]
    Saturday, September 02, 2006
In three years stint in tinsel town actress Sanjana Gandhi has learnt to give good performances and she is of the firm opinion that for long innings of an actress she has to deliver good performance. ''''''''''''''''I am not related to Gandhi family'''''''''''''''' Sanjana clarified in the beginning of chat with this correspondent at Sakleshpur on the sets of ''''''''''''''''Mungaru Male'''''''''''''''' her debut in Kannada.

Excerpts of an interview with sensible actress:

A quick recap of your career…..

I hail from Punjab studied in New Delhi public school. My father is Mr Pawan Gandhi a businessman and my mother is the great supporter of my career in films. Somehow after I year of B.com I did not get along very well with education. At that time I got opportunity to act in Bengali film. No one is from the films in my family.

Which is your debut Bengali film and films thereafter?

'Tum Ake Salam' in 2003 was my debut. 'Koki' in Telugu was super hit and that was beginning my entry to South Indian films. I have acted in 'Dhamad Ke Intizaar' and now finished a Tamil film 'Vaideeshwaran' opposite Sharatkumar. Now my first Kannada film 'Mungaru Male' is half way through. Ganesh is the hero of this film.

What is that you do in 'Mungaru Male'?

I play a bubbly girl not go against to the parent's wishes. The director and producer of this film saw my Telugu film 'Koki' and then gave me this offer.

What is that you have learnt in your three years stint?

In South Indian films my experience is that they respect talent. I decided to do better performance, learn the language and then go ahead.

When you get such feed back what is extra effort you put?

From the day one I entered the sets of 'Koki' Telugu film I developed the habit of understanding the language first. For every word I would know the meaning and then appear on the sets. This is important I felt because it helps me in my _expression and telling the dialogues in regional language would solve the lip sinking at the dubbing time. Now I have learnt the meaning of my lines in this Kannada film 'Mungaru Male' and then appearing on the sets. In 25 days of stay in this film I can also follow up the language to some extent when someone is talking.

'Mungaru Male' is shot maximum in rain. It is a difficult task for you?

This is a very rich experience for me. The rain is lashing all the time and initially I had problem in health. The skin got affected. But it is absolutely Ok now.

What is that you intend to achieve in films?

I want to get the name of good actress. I want to stay long. Do very good roles.

Before you achieve this in case your parents compel you to get married……

Marriage is not on the cards. Achievement is my goal.

Do you have any dream role to play?

I am looking for the roles of 'Arth' and 'Lamhe'.
