You have cut down your weight. Special reasons…. I want to suit the slim and trim role in my 25th film 'Bhoopathi' to the 'T' where I play grandson to veteran actor K.S.Ashwath. I cannot be robust like in my earlier films. I have that rare quality to decrease and increase my personality as and when I want. Have you changed in your attitudes?I was to believe everyone earlier. I know my market now. No one can cheat me. I have learnt lessons. When this change over took place? From the film 'Shastri' produced by my best friend Anaji Nagaraj who is also good cameraman. He showed me exactly what my market is from all over Karnataka. I realized then that the producers so far gave me wrong figures. Some of the super hit film producers of mine have told lies. How do you look at the ups and downs in the career? That has not left anyone in this field. I have learnt from my parents and elders that the head should not reel when success comes. When the failures come I sit at home thin about it and try to do good for that producer. No one knows the genesis for success. It is like how you will not know the birth place of river, Saints etc. Most of the cases the actor does not care after he acts and go?I agree to it. Till dubbing we are contacted. What I would say is that the actor should take part in the promotion of his film like in Hindi filmdom. I have understood another thing. When the film is good – say the story, cinematography and direction the hero does not matter. You are from the family of artistes. Do you ape anyone?I take good points in acting from stalwarts. That is for improvement of my capacity to emote. How was the situation when your father was acting? He has the fine ability in _expression and diction was excellent with eye balls like fire balls. But I was telling him that he should act like Om Puri, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal. But he was content with his style in number of Dr.Rajkumar films.
Do you think of your future?Today is truth. When my father was living he was telling his situation should not come to all his children. Now I realize and making some property for my coming generation. You often recall the poor days in life?I remember my elder sister taking out Rs.100 from my brother in law pocket and giving it to me and my brother. Now I earn lakhs together but that 100 rupees memory does not go away. There was 'sachcha pyaar' in it. I would never forget the olden days where there was struggle. Which film touched you in the recent past?It is 'Kadhal' Tamil film. It is a slow moving film. It is difficult to make in Kannada because the people might not receive it. It should not happen like what fate 'Namma Preethiya Ramu' faced. 'Thangigaagi' what attracted you?The struggle of brother I liked very much. I had seen the original Tamil film 'Thirupatchchi' when I was shooting for 'Shaastri'. I saw this film sitting in the Gandhi class in one of the theatres in Chennai.
What happened to your next project with Audhitya? It is a remake of 'Ishq'. My friend Anaji Nagaraj is the producer of this film. It is titled as 'Snehana Preethina'. |
