 How are you 'Sajani'…..sorry Sharmila? That's Ok you can call me as 'Sajani'. My friends and relatives have forgotten my name Sharmila. They all call me as 'Sajani'. That's a credit for you? Yes. That shows how my role got noticed in my debut. I am really looking for such idealistic, important and touching roles in my career. Has the acting course done in London helped you? The Pine Apple acting school in London helped me come out of fear of facing the camera. After 'Sajani' how the industry is looking at you? I have got offers in plenty but I am not in haste. Other language producers are also in touch. I decide on the roles and atmosphere of work. As of now I want to act in more number of Kannada films.  You are in a very small role in this film 'Yee Bandhana'? I come in a dance number with Tarun of 'Kushi' fame in this film. The reason why I accepted this film is because of two reasons. I have very close family friendship with director Vijayalakshmi Singh. Secondly when the offer is made where in lot of top stars like Dr.Vishnu, Jayaprada, Ananthnag, Darshan, Thara are in key roles I immensely liked the offer because I will be in a star studded film.
Which is your next Kannada film as heroine? I have signed a film called 'Krishna' where 'Mungaru Male' Comedy Time Ganesh is in the lead role. This is a film produced by Ramesh Yadav. I play a traditional girl. I wear simple costumes but I play intelligent girl role in that film. For another Kannada film the talks are going on. How is the response for your role in 'Sajani'? My family members liked it very much and my friends demanded a party for such a sweet role I have done. The media has given good reviews for my role and industry has noticed my performance. What about your studies? I have finished II PUC from Mount Carmel College. Doing the second semester of I year BBM by correspondence course. I am learning Kathak from Lakshmi Natya Institute of Kathak. |
