What are the objectives you have made for film business?
My policy is live and let live. There is no easy way out. Hard work and sincere approach only takes us to the heights is what I believe.
What is your background before coming to films?
I studied in Fort High School, Chamrajpet Bangalore and then shifted to Vishakapatnam in 1980. Again I came to Bangalore in 2000 to venture in to land business. My dream of childhood is to produce a film. I realized that this film business also gives employment to 300 to 400 persons from one film.
What ethics you have in mind?
I intend to give possible support and message through films. I am also a businessman. Make the right moves in this film business is my strong approach. I have succeeded very well in two films Honeymoon Express and Thenali Rama.
There is a notion that Kannada films would not reach outside Karnataka…..
That wrong notion I want to set right. My cinema is my baby. I am also an employee of my production is what I tell everyone. To show how best we also make films I am taking 'Savi Savi Nenapu' to places outside Karnataka.
What are the pleasant things in 'Savi Savi Nenapu'?
The approach to story narration by young director Santosh Rai Pathaje is different. The lucky star Prem has three different get ups. He is a college going, lover boy and family man. So in all the three shades he looks different. This is going to give a new image to Prem who has done Nenapirali, Jothe Jotheyali and Pallaki – all hit films. Mallika Kapoor and Tejaswini are the attractive female lead players. RP Patnayak has given very good music and accordingly the cinematography is very pleasant to the eyes. It is a film for all age groups.
How your earlier two films fared in the box office?
'Honeymoon Express' (S.Narayan in Jaggesh in the lead) Kannada film my first venture has crossed 400 days screening in Karnataka. It is running in 11 theatres even to this day. This film was mounted in February 2006. The second film 'Thenali Rama' (Jaggesh and Ramesh in lead) mounted in June 2006 is at the 221st day of screening and still going good in 18 theatres.
You want to go for number films with quality in mind?
In film business I am not interested in earning crores of rupees as profit. But I will take absolute care of my production and see to it that I do not suffer losses. I can do 3 films a year.
With what confidence you are releasing your third film 'SSN' in all South Indian languages?
Firstly I have seen the film from the audience point of view before going on the floor. Every scene I have involved with director Santosh Rai Pathaje. He is a brilliant guy. I have shown the song portions of the film to my 100 plus friends. They gave me the confidence that the star cast and subject is viable in all the languages. 'Savi Savi Nenapu' is different from my earlier two films. I have seen the songs of my film at least 50 times so far. I am confident about the subject. 10 percent of re-shoot for each language to suit the nativity is also taken care.
What is your next venture?
Discussion is going on with one of the brilliant technicians of Kannada cinema director Shivamani. In December Golden star Ganesh is acting in S.V.Production banner. Before this 'Savi Savi Nenapu' director Santosh Rai Pathaje is doing a film in November this year. I am roping in child wonder from Mysore who travels underneath 20 Tata Sumo vehicles with skating equipments tied to his legs.
