Acting, Acting and Acting! How long? Why you are not taking up direction? For that I need financial comfort. After 'H2O' I don't want to take any blame. It was a spectacular effort but I took the onus. It got critical acclaim but over spending of the producer had given me bad name. From that time I thought that my ideas should come on screen from my money.  You did 'Gokarna' for your home banner? That is true. But the big ideas what I have requires whopping budget. There is lot of curiosity when Upendra is going to take up direction? I am getting ready the subject. It has not taken a final shape. In all my free time on the sets I do writing work. You are earning through acting to make a movie of your own? That theory I had in the beginning. But what I earn is not enough for my project. I had to go for loan. But one thing is sure I am not going to tap any producer for my subject. You are acting in series of films? I have 'Bhimoos Bang Bang Kids' where I play double roles. The idea of Singh Babu is very great. This will be a very good film for the children and elders. I am acting in 'Buddivantha' where I come in twenty different get ups. 'Lav Kusha' I am starring with my best friend Shivarajkumar once again is ready. When 'Lav Kusha' is releasing? It is releasing in December this year. Jennifer Kotwal is heroine for Shivarajkumar I am teamed with Charmi. Top producer of Kannada cinema Prabhakar has invested a few crores on this project. Om Saiprakash has directed this film.  What is your expectation from 'Lav Kush'? This is going to be a bit commercial film. The fans of Shivanna and me would like this film. After 'Preethse' we are together in acting. But earlier to it I directed Shivarajkumar in 'OM' the big block buster. Now in acting I want to hit a hat trick with Shivarajkumar. I am looking for one more film to act with him. There is nothing happening from the artist fraternity. We have seniors taking care of it. I am of the opinion that the concept of you do something is wrong. Everyone collectively should do something. You are a force but not others
. That's wrong. Shifting of the responsibility and shying away from problems is not right attitude. Even you journalists can add up to good cause. Compared to Upendra a journalist is not a big voice. You have fan following. You can take up great causes. You are believed. You are accepted? This thinking is wrong. Taking leadership is not enough. The concept of let us do it is important.  You have said about 'Naanu' (Me) in the film titled in your name 'Upendra' long ago? It was in the climax of the film. Everything from me is wrong. That is egoism. The effect of it I have explained. But what I mean to say is that each one should think of contributing for a good cause. What is that you can do is most important. What happened to your studio? There is no proper road to approach the studio. Development works are not happening in a rapid scale. Is your actress wife Priyanka interested in acting in your film? This question you should ask my wife Priyanka. If I find her fit for my own banner film I would ask her to act. |
