Can you furnish a brief background about you?My original name is Shruthi. I have completed Pre University from Vidya Mandir. It was the ambition of my late father to become an actor. My grandfather was in theatre plays and what could not materialize from my father I am doing it now in cinema. Sadly he is not there to see my films. I hail from Chickballapur. This is where I learnt painting and dancing. It is in this place my father was running two bakeries. My brother got a job in Bangalore and I had to shift to this beautiful Bangalore. I evinced interest in Bharatanatyam and learnt it for a few years. How was your debut film 'MMM'? 'Manasugala Mathu Madhura'(Releasing on 7th March) is about teenage lovers. When teen age youths see this film they would correct themselves. I found it tough to cry in some of the scenes. I remembered the passing away of my dad in 2005 and collected emotions required for the scene. Why you have not shown interest in studies? After completing II PUC I wanted to take up fashion designing but time is not permitting. I am getting one after the other. I concentrated on Bharatanatyam, participated in cultural activities. Bharatanatyam has indeed helped me in giving expressions for my maiden film. How 'Vasantha Kala' has shaped up?I play village belle with traditional costumes in 'MMM' (Anand is hero) I am in a triangular love story in 'Vasantha Kala' (Nagkiran is hero). I liked the green background of the film 'MMM'. Lush greenery I love very much. The trees and plants I like because that is a very important natural resource. What is your role in under production 'Mukyamantri I Love You'?At the young age I play the IAS officer. The role is very heavy for me but I have accepted for respected Ravi Belegereji the editor of Kannada tabloid 'Hai Bangalore' who is directing and producing the film. This film has completed 70 percent of shooting. Why did you say it is difficult phase for beautiful girls to stay in filmdom? For nothing persons like me is targeted. Working on the sets very socially and casually chatting would pass wrong messages. You are worried about gossips? In the initial stages of career gossip disturbed me. I was totally shocked then thought it is common in the tinsel town.
What is your approach in reacting to the people in the industry?Everything depends on how you reciprocate at the issues. One thing I have learnt in one year is that 'Patience Pays' and 'Experience and practice makes one perfect'. I was not the one who could wait earlier. This cinema industry has already taught me the result of waiting.
There is a rumor that you are not agreeing to number of films?I am basically very firm in my approach. I do not accept all sundry roles. I have good approach and mentality. It should be understood. What are the grounds on which you accept films? For me the producer, story and director is very important. I do not mind acting with newcomer or seniors in the field. What is your goal in the cinema field?Besides being a good human being I want to become another Aishwarya Rai. |
