In the three months of time we have received 12000 applicants. Out of which we have processed and selected 1200 applicants. At Dr.Rajakumar Memorial Hall in Rajajinagar (behind RTO office) on 13, 14 and 15th April with the help of cameraman and director Santosh Rai Pathaje I have given the test to the applicants who have come from all over Karnataka. From 1200 we are short listing 220 to 250 candidates. From this we will pick 60 to 70. All these selected in the final test will be given chance in SV Production ventures and even the Kannada filmdom could make use of the selected artists. Is this a big strain for you in your career of 16 years? The whole process of selection takes the strain of making a film. I have given up two films in this selection process. Are you bored of regular cinema? That is one of the primary issues why I have taken up this process. When I did Rajakiya, Golibaar, Swathi I got the base as director in Kannada filmdom. Even today I am in existence. After series of films like Love You, Omkara, Masthi and Ashoka I have given a new thought. At one point of time we have to do on our own instead of survival. In this process of selection I have updated myself and came to know about the present day feel. I have got a belief that the route for success is clear with some remarkable thought process. How was the response from applicants towards this scheme?
People who came on stage cried in emotions. Some of them are happy for giving a platform to express their talent. From the applications we received the candidates from Mysore district was more. From remote parts like Bagalkot, Bidar, Karwar, Belgaum we have received the aspirants. A girl from Hubli who was denied the affection of father enacted the similar experience on stage. There were professors, Managers from Banks and MBA students in large numbers attended this screen test first stage process. A few of the grand parents with lot of energy performed at the screen test. What is the belief in you after first stage of completion? Most of them are raw. What I would say is that I have not got 100 percent what I want. We have not got artists who can play mother roles what Srividya, Thulasi, Umasri could do. We did not get comedians. Most of them are capable of dancing. For those who came from different part of Karnataka what was the arrangement? There was very good arrangements like breakfast, food, coffee, tea and snacks from SV Productions. What is the stage of 'Jolly Hudugru' of SV Babu? The film will go on the floor in the third week of May. We will introduce the new talent on that day. The composition of three songs is over. The location hunt, screenplay dialogues are final. We will be shooting in Mysore surroundings.
