A few Kannada films to her kitty all of them reaching the audience attention this ''Apple of Kannada cinema'' Vaibhavi spoke to this correspondent in an exclusive chat.

Can you furnish a brief background?

I studied in Mangalore. I have graduation in psychology. My passion was in Fashion. I have worked as a visual Merchandiser in Dubai and presently doing a course in Manchester (UK) in Retail Management.

How this cinema attachment developed in you?

It just happened. I always had a passion to act like how I had for Fashion. I did fashion designing when I was studying B.A. Psychology. I did a Malayalam movie (Onnaragam) and then went back to my career. Later I got offer from Mrs Prafulla Srinivas who reside in USA for Kannada film 'Thamashegagi' then followed 'Kamanna Makkalu' and 'Citizen'. I enjoyed the working environment because I had no idea of this profession. It was a learning experience for me.

What about your family background?

I hail from Mangalore and come from a business family. My father Kamaluddin was a Developer in Mangalore and my mother Ayesha is a housewife. I have a sister Milia Begum working in England as a doctor. I studied in St.Jerosa High School and Agnasais College.

What are your interests?

I love traveling, shopping (who does not like it), reading and cinema is always my passion.

For your immaculate heroine strength you are getting the right opportunities?

I am waiting for some good script in Kannada. I am doing this 18th month retail management course and that keeps me shuffling from place to place. Film makers might not be aware of my preoccupation. For a good script I can eke out time.

How is the response for your roles in Kannada?

The people in the Industry are good and I am getting good recognition from the media. I hope to make it big one day in cinema because the support extended is very good.
