Avunu Preview

For some reason, Ravi Babu and Suresh Productions and PVP Cinemas chose to made Avunu rather secretly.  But ever since the inspiration for making this horror film was rattled out by the director, the film has caught our imagination.  Interestingly, Avunu is not a dark film.  It is horrific; but it is not a regular horror flick where the spirits routinely and invariably scare the characters during the nights.

"We always read that evil spirits petrify humans during the nights.  What do they do during the day time?"  This led him to concoct scenes that have not been usually seen in the spooky films down the ages.

"When we realize that someone is there with us, but that entity is not visible, we invariably feel shivers down the spine.  My heroine is terrified in broad day light by this morbid fear.  There is a villain who is never present to the naked eyes.  How the heroine escapes from his evil clutches forms the crux of the story," the director has said.

Set to be released on Sep 21, the plot has been inspired by a real-life incident narrated by Yami Gautham to Ravi.  It stars Poorna and Harshavardhana Rane in key roles.
