Savari Movie Review - Good journey

IndiaGlitz  [Saturday, April 11, 2009]

A passable film with very good performance from Raghu Mukerji, Srinagara Kitty and Kamalini Mukerjee is good in parts. The road to trace the fiancé for the protagonist and his transformation of life is convincingly narrated. This is the remake of Telugu film 'Gamyam' handled for the first time by director Jacob Varghese. The flash back technique mixed in the narration is quite interesting to watch.

Abhiram an affluent youngster is bowled over the beauty and nature of Janaki. Janaki is a doctor has the strong will power and wants to serve the rural people. Abhiram is not ready to accept to this standard of life and he wants only Janaki. In a fit of anger Janaki discard Abhiram for his attitude. The search Abhiram makes to find Janaki is the crux of the rest of the story. On his way to find Janaki who is constantly moving as the medical camps shift from place to place Abhiram is supported by Gaali Seenu. Before Abhiram finds Janaki the innocent and reformed Gaali Seenu falls to the bullet of Naxals. Before his death Gaali Seenu sees the photograph of Janaki and that gives a clue for Abhiram to find Janaki who is on her way to Kasargod to attend another medical camp.

The innocence, arrogance and looks of Raghu Mukerji the 'Paris Pranaya' Kannada film hero is notable and he has a rare ability that the normal heroes do not have. He is robust and rare ability could easily give him more meaningful films. Srinagara Kitty as Gaali Seenu is a nonstop talker and the dialogues for him give an additional bonus to remain in the memory of the audience. Kamalini Mukerjee is a treat to watch especially in the dance number. CR Simha and Sadhu Kokila as the decent father and comedian respectively give relief.

Marali the best of the four songs in the film. Cinematography by Vel Raj is convincing. This is a passable film.

Scoring 6/10
