Love Guru - Only style no substance
IndiaGlitz  [Saturday, July 18, 2009]

It is only style Guru but not a convincing ‘Love Guru’ (the name of Salman Khan in ‘Partner’ Hindi cinema). The newcomer with lot of hope Prashanthraj offers nothing worthwhile in this long and protracted cinema ‘Love Guru’. He has given the grandeur required for the film but in the contents and screenplay he never gives delectable moments to hold the attention.

Pratham (Tarun) fails on three occasions to admit his love to Kushi (Radhika Pandit). First time it is on April 1st day the office colleagues consider it as ‘April Fool’ the timid Pratham goes away in dejection, next time when Pratham is explaining over mobile to Kushi she has not heard it because at the same time a cockroach frighten her mother and on the third occasion when Pratham says ‘I Love You’ to Kushi she is married and what a joke every one term it. Abhi is (Dilipraj) is the one who makes it and he is on his toes to get married to Kushi that he succeeds.

What’s now left out? Audiences are left to think and director Prashanthraj gives the boring proceedings thereafter. Pratham in inebriated mood admit to everyone his heart feelings to Kushi and this is what perturbs Abhi his close friend. Pratham is back to his usual nature when a charming Andrita Rai comes in the last scene of the film.

The contributors of this film are Radhika Pandit and Dilipraj. Radhika Pandit looks very glamorous and she has a fine future ahead. Tarun deserved to be better. Sharan comedy is not up to the mark.

Joshua Sridhar mixing the lyrics to the music is not in good proportion. The lyrics are not heard properly. Gnanamurthy is superb in his camera as every frame looks neat and colorful.

A disappointing film!

Scoring 5/10
