Actor cum politician Jaggesh in his latest film 'Bodyguard' has showed that he is a good performer in emotional roles. Known for witty dialogues and histrionics Jaggesh is no doubt 'Govinda' of Kannada cinema. In this film 'Bodyguard' he has a different role to perform with first half giving usual Jaggesh.
When the protagonist misses out his admirer and finds a wrong one by the circumstances playing villain the audience feel very emotional. After a long gap he finds the right choice via his son the film ends on a happy note.

Coming to Agrahara to meet Ashokanna to get the job of a 'Bodyguard' Jayakrishna with his time sense and strength win the heart of his news place. Saving Ashokanna wife and daughter earns him the position of 'Bodyguard'. Jayakrishna is a strict 'bodyguard' when it comes to protect Ammu daughter of don Ashokanna. With Ammu he also joins college to finish his unfinished subjects. In this time Ammu with her friend Poorna makes a costly mistake from her private number. She dodges on Jayakrishna via mobile that she is a lover of him. It is only Ammu and her friend knows the truth among the characters.
Innocent Jayakrishna continues his telephonic chat that he gets from a private number leads to suspicion in the goons of Ashokanna. Jayakrishna is asked to prove his fiancé and beaten badly and dispatched. In the railway station on the advice of Ammu it is Poorna who saves the further danger for Jayakrishna. That also becomes a lapse on the part of the friend.
After eight long years Poorna is dead of cancer and Jayakrishna with his son Siddarth comes to see Ashokanna again. There is a secret diary in the custody of Siddarth that opens up the truth for Jayakrishna. Ammu joins Jayakrishna after eight years.
In the career of over 125 films of Jaggesh this role is quite different. He has graduated in to emotional roles. Daisy Shah has to cut down her weight and look slim. She is good in acting. Spoorthi has a small role, Sadhu Kokila comedy is passable.
Vinaychandra has given refreshing tunes in his first major film. He has a great future ahead. Three of his songs - Julu Julu....Ellidhe Rajakumari....Siddapaji songs are well tuned. Jaggesh has sung one of the songs in the film. Ashok V Raman second film with Jaggesh after 'Eddelu Manjunatha' is apt and steady in his work.
