Meghave Meghave - Good in parts!
IndiaGlitz  [Saturday, January 31, 2009]

Intelligent writer Dr.Nagendra Prasad making wrong choice in the cast and elaborating his screenplay shooting extensively in Nepal impresses in parts in his second directorial venture 'Meghave Meghave' that has drawn very poor attendance on the opening day.

Firstly he should have thought of an alternative to Gracy Singh the 'Lagaan' and 'Munna Bhai MBBS' heroine. Gracy grace is badly missing and she looks like an aunt in her first Kannada film 'Meghave Meghave'. Secondly the chopping down the screenplay keeping more suspense elements in the first half he could have altered the looks of protagonist Ram in this film. Of course the songs and cinematography are good. Over all it is a futile attempt.

Raja (Raam) a folk singer with his troupe in Nepal on an assignment befriends with Chandramukhi (Gracy Singh) and it turns in to a love later. At the interval point the mission of Raja is different the audience would know. Raja elopes with Chandramukhi to tag her as a prostitute first and then rescue her to another remote to leave her isolated. Why Raja has done like to Chandramukhi opens up in the flash back after Chandramukhi surface in front of everyone in the family. According to Raja it is Chandramukhi responsible for the death of three persons – parents and sister in the family of Raja. But Raja does not know Chandramukhi is innocent in this case. He fulfills his revenge but hit by bad luck Chandramukhi is later accepted by Raja.

The screenplay is convincing the locations are fantastic the music and lyrics are memorable in 'Meghave Meghave'.

Ram has the aggressive capacity and he has the right requirement to fit in to this role. The grace what we find on screen once Sudeep appears in the guest role is not found in Gracy Singh. She does not fit the heroine label. KSL Swamee is very neat in his looks and role and villain on Kannada screen Shobaraj has a very good supporting role.

Sooya Bandaga Bhoomi Helalla No Entry…a song shot on popular star of Kannada cinema Sudeep is pretty good and the screen is set on fire from his entry in the film. Throughout in his short stay Sudeep is very lively. Namasthe Namasthe….with some good thought out graphic is interesting opening song shot on Gracy Singh. The duet Huduga Huduga….song is also melodious.

Dasari Seenu camera should obviously look good because of the spectacular locations that are new to the eyes of Kannada film audience. The mountain ranges the interior of Nepal Dasari Seenu gives a travelogue experience.

Scoring 6/10
