Rocky Movie Review

A musical love story from famous editor Nagendra Urs in his second directorial venture is good in parts. Firstly the protagonist Yash is convincing in his first film as full length hero, secondly the songs in the film are impressive, thirdly Bienca Desai in her debut is very promising and she is in the range of Bollywood. She looks like Kareena Kapoor in some angles.

What is lacking is the urge the hero makes to another guy to love his lover. This is stupid and one cannot digest. Without understanding the repercussions of such thread in the story Nagendra Urs has made a futile attempt.

Rocky is not a careless although his busy parents have left him free. He is studios and a rank holder. The top ranking he gets in education is not possible for him to achieve in his love life. He is bowled over by the beauty of Usha. Usha is not reciprocating. She is impressed with Vishwas a guitarist. At this point of Rocky goes to the extreme of asking Vishwas the top class musician to love his lover Usha. On the one side he has not been able to impress her and secondly without knowing the consequences of doing so he urge for Vishwas to love Usha only to keep her happy. When the situation becomes 'Ulta' (Rocky is under the impression that Vishwas may not fall in love) and goes out of hands Rocky makes his own ideas to get his fiancé to his side. The rest is quite interesting part to watch on the screen.

Yash is promising and punching in his first action, musical and emotional cinema. He is at ease in all the areas except emotions. A handsome guy has entered the hero slot in Kannada cinema. Bienca Desai is a treat to watch in the song sequences. She looks partially Kareena Kapoor and her perfect body language is an asset for her. Santosh, Jaijagdeesh, Padmaja Rao, Girija Lokesh extended good support.

The melody is not missing from duo music directors Venkat and Narayan. The song Vallara Valla...is very racy. Sudhakar in his debut as cameraman is not impressive.
