Mohanlal's first release of the year 'College Kumaran' will get released one week after the earlier schedules. The film whose post production is on full swing was expected to make a release on the Republic Day. Now the movie will now make a release, only on the first of February.

Mammootty's 'Roudram' will be the first to reach the theaters among the new releases, charted for this month. 'Roudram' which feature the star again a police officer role will now make a release on 24th of January. On the immediate next day Blessy’s 'Calcutta News' which was in production for a long time, will grace the theaters. 

The year opened with two releases in Molly wood, with Jayaraj's'  'Of The People' and east coast Vijayan's 'Novel'. Both these films carried bad word of mouth from its initial viewers and the films are struggling to get a move. But the Christmas releases like 'Katha Parayumpol', 'Kangaroo' and 'Romeo' are still making good revenues from the major centers.
