Day after day, many new films are getting announced with debutants as the directors. But the sad story gripping the industry is that only half of the film that get announced get realized as good projects and an one by third of them will still find it hard  to get into theaters. Last year too, out of 64 films that were released 19 were from debutants among which Amal Neerad, M Mohanan, Jithu Joseph, Jayasuriya and Babu Thiruvalla were the few who could make appreciable differences and impact with their products.

In the current year also around thirty films are already in the pipeline with debutantes holding the mike. Joining the lot is Sathish Kumar, an assistant to Suresh Unnithan, Viji Thampi and Thulaseedas, who will display his directorial ability with the new film titled 'Pathikar'. The movie will feature Biju Menon and Kalabhavan Mani in lead roles. The highlight of the movie will be the scripts by Madhu Muttom, the story writer of the neoclassic 'Manichithrathazhu'. The project will be produced by M S  Babu in the banner of M S Movies.
