Mohanlal has just completed shooting for his short cameo for ‘Mizhikal Sakshi'-the new film by Ashok R Nath. Mohanlal is playing the role of an estranged rebel, the only son of Kuniyaama, who is sentenced to death following his association with terrorist activities. The superstar  who was much impressed after reading the full scripts, then earmarked five days for the film from his hectic schedules, which the crew utilized the best while shoot at Kollam.

Sukumari plays the pivotal character of Kuniyaama, whose mindset gets out of the way shortly after the sentence of her son. The movie which is sure to make headlines is scripted by Anil Mukhathala. Also in the cast of the film are Manoj K Jayan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan and Krishnaprasad.

Ashok R Nath became much famous with his debut film 'Saphalam' which introduced music director Jassie gift and earned a place in the panorama. His second film 'December' was a dud even though it featured some good songs.

'Mizhikal Sakshy' is his third film whose highlight also includes the return of great musician Dakshinamoorthy, to do the songs for the film.
