A red army with 9 songs
IndiaGlitz [Saturday, April 26, 2008]

Songs are becoming a rare commodity in Mollywood films, now a day. While the standard number of songs that you may find in a Malayalam movie will come up to three or four, there will be a dozen movies every year, that won't feature any songs at all.

Into these circumstances is the arrival of the debut film by Robin Thirumala titled 'Chembada'. The highlight of the movie seems to be the nine songs created by new comers.

The movie based on a novel in a popular weekly tells the story of a young music band, who also specializes in murder and robbery. ‘Chembada’ will feature songs written by Prakash Marar and set to music by Musafir.

Both these debutantes in cinema has used the vocals of  some lesser known singers like Dr M K Muneer, Sathesh Babu, Reju Joseph, Preetha, Sisily and Smitha Nishanth.. The album also features songs by Kalabhavan Mani, Afzal, Najeem, Arshad, Jyotsna and Renjini Jose.

Also following this trend is Rehman's new film 'Musafir'. The film which is now being shot in Dubai will have six songs set to music by M G Radhakrishnan, Ouseppachan, Shahbaaz Aman and Balabhaskar.

The songs of the film will be shot at Cyprus and London.
