Senthil, back to Malayalam
IndiaGlitz [Friday, May 09, 2008]

A decade ago, it was the hit comedy pair of Senthil and Goundamani, who ruled the Kollywood industry. All the films which featured them in continuous comic outbursts and in parallel comedy tracks did extremely well at the box office.

They reminded many of the famous Laurel and Hardy duo and malayalee's own Bhasi and Bahadoor who created comic waves, acting in couples. But with the arrival of artists like Vivek and Vadivelu, the enthusiasm that Tamil viewers showed on Senthil and Goundamani seems to have faded out.

Any how, Senthil is now trying for a comeback to Mollywood with the new film ‘Apoorva'. The movie which is directed by an 18 year old youth, Nithin Ramakrishnan will have this veteran star in a pivotal role.

The actor who is much impressed with his role in the movie likes to be an integral part of Malayalam movie industry, where good comic artists are encouraged to the helm.

Many will not really find sense, when we told about Senthil's comeback to Mollywood. But the fact is that the actor has made his debut to silver screen through a Malayalam movie directed by Sasikumar in the late seventies.

Thereafter he moved over to Kollywood where had carved a name for himself.

Senthil also donned a big character in Sibi Malayil’s movie ‘Aayirathil Oruvan' made in 2001, which never got released.
