Biju Viswanath, the internationally acclaimed filmmaker from India is known for his much applauded experiments with cinema. His films like 'Devaju' and 'Mahotsav' were the big events in many international film circuits.

He is now venturing into the creation of an independent film about the life of the late Pulitzer Prize-winning poet William Meredith.

The newly created William Meredith Foundation, the Norwich Arts Council and the Garde Arts Center will produce the movie.

The movie will be based on Marathon, a book written by Richard Harteis, longtime companion of Meredith who had been with the poet after he suffered a stroke in 1983, till his death in 2007.

Celia de Freine, an Irish poet is writing the screenplay for the movie which expected to be released in October.
