Kalabhavan Mani had a disastrous year, so far in 2008, with none of his films making any good collections at the box office. He had  four releases this year in 'Kerala Police’, ‘Swarnam’, ‘Shakesphere MA Malayalam' and the latest 'Aandavan'.

‘Kerala Police’ presented Mani as a police officer, after his big hit ‘Ben Johnson’ that came a couple of years ago.

But the movie failed to engage any audience and was left without any takers even in its second week.

'Swarnam' had a different backdrop and was applauded as a well made film in all aspects. The movie but didn't appeal to the typical Mani fans who were waiting for his regular action numbers.

‘Shakesphere M A Malayalam’ released last week had Mani in a role of welcome relief, playing a humorous character.

Now all eyes are on 'Aandavan' a movie which was completed long back, but failed to reach the audience till now.

And as per the trade patterns of the month, ‘Aandavan’ too, may not help Mani in a proper comeback to the title of a mass hero.
