Mr. Umashankar Babu, of 'Federation of Film Societies of India' and presently a member of Adhoc committee of MACTA made it clear yesterday that they had found Mr. Vinayan, responsible for certain financial irregularities during his tenure as general secretary of the MACTA Federation.
Meanwhile, various union representatives supporting Mr. Vinayan said their rival camp had worked hard to reject the eligibility of various members to vote in the MACTA polls that was originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The introduction of the deposits of Rs 25000 for getting voting rights was named as one such move by the Siddhique group, who is trying to take charge of MACTA.
Mr Baiju Kottarakkara, one of the leading members of this faction also announced that they have decided to lay siege to the shooting locations of actor Dileep, as a protest against the delay to find a solution to the dispute involving Dileep and film director Thulasidas.
Many will remember that, it was following this dispute that MACTA was divided and many raised hands against the then secretary, film director Vinayan.
