 Mallika Sarabhai, one of the most renowned Kuchipudi and Bharathanatyam dancers of India, is planning to debut as a film director. She will be making a movie based on a novel on the Syrian Christian community in Kerala. She likes to maintain suspense about the name of the novel that she is planning to visualize but is ready to give the clue that it is an English Novel written by a Keralite.
Film director T.V. Chandran's son, Yadavan Chandran, a coordinator of visual communications at the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts run by the Sarabhais, will co-direct the movie with Sarabhai. The movie, according to the director is all about the many roles played by Women in orthodox communities.
