 The association of Kerala Film Producers and the artists association, AMMA, have decided to restrict the maximum budget of a superstar film to 3.5 crores. And if a movie feature more than a superstar, the producers association will take decisions on an individual basis, after a written request from the producer of the film citing the reasons to hike the budget. The producers also accepted a demand from AMMA, to submit the scripts of a movie 45 days before the shooting, to all important crew members including the artists. These were the decisions reached on Thursday, in the meeting of the representatives of both the organisations, called upon to resolve ways to save the ailing Film industry of the state.
AMMA also agreed to consider reducing the pay package of the superstars and other lead actors, as it was opined that 60 percent of the movie budget was presently spend as the fee for actors. The other important decisions arrived at the meeting include to begin daily shooting from 7 am in the morning, strictly scheduling the shoot of every movie to below 45 days and a ban on mobile phones at shooting locations to ensure discipline. Innocent, the president of AMMA said later that the artist association will co-operate with the producers in all their efforts to strengthen the industry.
