Veteran movie artist Thilakan and Jagadheesh were named as the Top Grade Drama artists of Thiruvananthapuram station by the director of AIR. This is the first time some artists are named in this category of any of the AIR stations of Kerala.

Thilakan had been giving voices to AIR dramas from 1977 while Jagadheesh had been a regular from the year 1980. Both of them were conferred this special mention, also considering their three decade long stint with cinema.
