Ilayathalapathy Vijay's multi-starrer 'Nanban' that released as a Pongal treat was showcased for Salem Central Jail prisoners on Sunday (March 25). This was organized by the Tamil Nadu state government to provide healthy entertainment by featuring a quality film for the prisoners.

It is also said that the TN government has plans of screening such quality entertainers in jails in the pipeline. It is said that prisoners thoroughly enjoyed the film as it's a Vijay starrer and a latest release that's still running in multiplexes and rural areas.

'Nanban' starring Vijay, Ileana, Jiiva and Srikanth is helmed by Shankar and is a faithful remake of Bollywood blockbuster '3 Idiots'. The film was acclaimed for retaining the essence from the original.
