Though there may be in-house tussle between Priyadarshan and Ratan Jain over a mere item song in 'tezz', film's leading man Anil Kapoor is coming ahead in full support of his director. Reuniting with him a decade and a half after working in 'Virasat', Anil Kapoor exclaims that it is high time that the prolific director realises his true potential.
"The problem with Priyadarshan is that he doesn't even know how he good he is. I in fact recently told him that he is not just one of the best directors in the country but also a filmmaker of international calibre. I guess that's the innocent part of Priyan that he doesn't even know who he is and what all he can actually do. There are certain directors who just want to work and he is one of them who just goes on and on and makes movies. He is quite happy with 'Tezz' though and was recently telling me that this is one of his best works and he is very proud of it", says Kapoor.
Surprisingly though despite Priyadarshan making quite a few films since 'Virasat', Anil Kapoor never appeared in his scheme of things.
"Well, he did come to me after 'Virasat' as well. There were certain films that he had offered to me but we couldn't work together for certain reasons", says Kapoor, "However when he narrated me the idea of 'Tezz' and also a little bit of its story, I felt that I should do it. Moreover he also told me that I didn't have the choice of saying 'no'. He categorically told me that only I could do this role because in the battle of Aakaash (played by Ajay Devgn) and Arjun, he wanted two seasoned characters to fight it out. He was of the view that with any lesser actor, the film won't work so naturally I went ahead."
'Tezz' releases all over tomorrow.
